What is the TOEFL?
tests measure the ability of nonnative speakers of English to communicate in English in the college or
university classroom. Test scores are used in the admissions process at more than 7,000 academic institutions
throughout the world. Those international (ESL) students required to take this test should contact
Mrs. Cindy Brooks
SMA is an official TOEFL testing site.
When/Where is the TOEFL?
All tests will be offered in room 201
. Students will need to be ready and in
room 201 by 9:30 a.m.
on the day of the test. The test can be started no later than
10:00 a.m. Some test administrations are scheduled for Saturday mornings and some are scheduled
for Friday mornings. Students testing on Friday are not marked absent from their classes but are
responsible to make up work missed while testing. We have 10 places available for each test.
Mrs. Brooks will accept test candidates on a first-come-first-serve basis. Students should see
Mrs. Brooks to sign the document that will hold their place. Her office is located in the Business
Office in the Administration Building. Students will need to change, reserve or cancel their
registrations no later than the Friday proceeding the test date. If a student does not make
arrangements before that Friday, the price of the test will be forfeited
. TOEFL will not make reimbursements.
